I wonder if people even do this and how they express it or if it's just some secret thing they clasp to themselves or just some vague ideal that you really don't have to do. I feel ya, I feel ya, I just don't want to feel you. Love me from a distance. Love me cerebrally, love me theoretically, love me on the telephone, email, text, IM, TV, and internet. Love me through your charitable gifts and donations. But don't touch me, I get hives.

So many more ways to love each other and yet we feel the love less. Sometimes I really do need to reach and touch faith.

That's deep.

You're right. Physical touch is only one way of expressing love, and when it's not accompanied by any other ways of expressing love, it's pretty lame all by itself. I don't care for it much personally. For me, I feel loved when someone listens to me share about my thoughts and feelings, especially if they ask questions to draw them out, or wait patiently as they rise to the surface where I can express them. Love is hard to find.
