I guess it depends on how the little the change is.
I could say I went through a big change or I could say I went through a series of smaller related changes that culminated into what looked like one big change.
I wonder why people quibble over differences such as this because to me the end is the same, and most "everyday folk" understand what I mean when I say I went through a big change.
