I have seen yard signs like this. The other day I saw a handmade sign next to some standard Biden signs, reading "Make lies wrong again."

I'm seeing them all over here, for both sides. Despite living in a deeply red state, I've seen a surprising amount of Biden/Harris signs, but I am in a suburb not too far from the major city so I suppose that plays a part as well.

Somehow I’m reminded of this one passage from one of the “Conversations with God” books I read in recent years, it went something like this:

Hitler went to Heaven. When you understand this, you understand God.

I may never understand people like Hitler, Nixon or Trump. But it’s hard not to feel sorry for such people either. They’ll never even get to realize how far off they were/are from seeing the world and the people around them with genuine love and compassion in their hearts - and all I can do is feel sorry for them. They may not even be “bad” in the fullest sense. They’ve just done a bunch of terrible things that the world will never forget as time goes by.

No one is born good or evil. No one is 100% good or evil either. We all fall somewhere in the middle of a wide spectrum between what we define as good vs. evil... and even that spectrum changes the more we grow and evolve.

[Sorry if I’m not making any sense here, I’m just kinda dazed right now from a self-healing session and I start going on a spiritual ramble every time lol]

Naw dude, your head is in just the right place.

"...and when I finish, this country will be in a position like it hasn't been maybe ever"
Yeah, he got that right, but not in the way he means it...

"the economy is already roaring back"
Uhhh, the only roaring going on is probably from the riots...

"[my goal is for] everybody [to] be happy"
Yeah, we've got a realist right here...gotta love how he states his vague af end goals without any actual plans, too...

Which one is it? A brief anomaly or just a symptom of a breakup with no turning back? That's the big question. Hopefully a lot will become clearer in the next few months.

US says EU’s farm plans risk global famine

But his main target was Europe's deeply entrenched hostility to genetically-modified products.

Speaking of the pre2016 problems in trans-Atlantic ties: this is one good example of it.
If Trump wins this will go south for sure, but if Biden wins I am not sure this will go away as an issue. We fundamentally reject their food industry and anarcho-capitalist approach to it. Since feeding people with junk isn't really the answer. While population running out of control is also kinda anarcho-capitalist approach to things, as well as having plenty of people that can't afford normal food.

Do they vote?

Similar article.
Trump faces an uphill effort courting the Amish vote in Pennsylvania

Usually only a minority will vote, and if they do, they vote GOP. But since PA is so tight, they're basically politicking the Amish to try and get them to vote in numbers, with abortion as a wedge issue even though pacifism wouldn't really fit with Trump. What votes they can get from them are notoriously cheap in terms of amount spent to win them. He doesn't give a squat about the Amish or their values of non-interference, it's yet just another population to used to squeak by.

It's frustrating that no reporter who's interviewed Trump has tried to get him to define socialism. He relies strongly on the word as a crutch, fear-mongering constantly/making the boogeyman sound scarier and scarier. But I'd love for him to get backed into a corner to reveal he has no fucking clue what he's talking about, that he simply relies on the word to poke histrionic fear.

Well, it's the same with any American right- winger. Socialism is just their word for anything the government does they don't like.

I grew up in Delaware County PA, which is one of those "swing" counties around Philadelphia you hear a lot about around election season. I have a lot of people on my Facebook from there (and neighboring Montgomery county, which is a similar deal but wealthier). They're all strongly pro-Biden as far as I can tell.

I don't remember what it was like last time though.

It's too bad I can't do the informal "sign" poll there to gauge things.

They all do. Every right winger, conservative, "libertarian" and garden variety GOP member. And I laugh every time some chud screams VENEZUELA!! Capitalism and imperialism destabilized Venezuela and the US tried a spectacular stupid coup that failed but I do find it very interesting that Chile is rewriting their constitution (fuck you Pinochet) and Bolivia ejected right wing authoritarianism. Both of these are additionally gigantic middle fingers to the US (considering what the US has done to south American) and I think they also took advantage of the US decline and weakness to make things better for their people.

I case people have no idea what the Chile thing means...

Definitely. I'm super jazzed about what's going on in South America. Also, it's worth mentioning that Pinochet had U.S. help to get him into power. I'm sure you know that, but it might not be clear to everyone.

Yes, true. I also guarantee that the Proud Boys running around wearing these shirts can only regurgitate US propaganda on the subject.

Do you think it would make any difference to people towards the bottom of that chain if people at the top couldn't begin to present a cogent reason for the fear when cornered about it? I realize - at least the first several times it happened - Trump would spray emotional deflection like, "Why are you even asking me? Everyone knows what it is! <rant rant blah blah :fullload: >" But if reporters were consistently calm and persistent, and headlines like "Trump can't even define socialism" wouldn't go away, wouldn't that *kinda* make an impact?

I'm frustrated in general, really, that reporters aren't better at this about a lot of the bullshit manipulation Trump pulls. Hopefully they'll get better. Because even if Biden wins, Trump will continue spewing his divisive rhetoric - being as divisive as possible.

Well, the media has a civility fetish which has been passed on to the public so I don't think they will ever learn how to not be manipulated. The bothsideism bullshit is a media bias. I really think that in itself needs to be examined and emphasized much more than it is.

I don't think people at the bottom of the chain currently have a way to differentiate what is real and what is false. And it isn't education or intelligence. It's a population that's been hammered down, degraded and forgotten but because they are striving for some change or difference, they latch on to the most different thing out there that the mainstream hates. Trump or more Trumptard politicians.
