To Do List

I wrote a to-do list last night. Here I am, the next day, very tired, and not wanting to do a single thing on this list. I don't mind writing to-do lists, because it's fun to think of productive things to do, but I sure hate doing to-do lists.

Luckily, I made this one easy for myself. Each thing is either a baby step or a task that can be completed in five minutes.

I can't afford to throw my time away anymore. If I'm not having fun, I better be doing something productive instead.

And yes, I did write this to motivate myself. Here I go.

Did it. I noticed that one really cool thing about just taking that first baby step is that in the process I get a much better idea of what it's going to take to accomplish the task. How long will it take? Does anything need to be done right away? Do I need to do anything that I hadn't anticipated? Good stuff. And 25% of the time it's so much easier than I thought it would be that I just go ahead and finish it.
