Five hundred years ago the West started exploding outwards in colonialism. And both the USA and Oz are the result of this outward explosion of the West.
But today the opposite is happening, we are imploding inwards. And that is why we are on this site as we look inwards to our own psyche.
The explosion outwards created its own values in external authority. The outward explosion needed and created external authority. While the implosion is also creating its own values like inner authority.
External authority and inner authority are in conflict. External authority is very well defended and is heir to all the psychological defences, while inner authority has the freshness and vigour of new life.
We tend to take external authority for granted as it has been with us for so long, but inner authority has all the authority of the psyche and all the authority of the implosion of the archetypes.
Today we fear the implosion of our psyches. We are terrorised by the implosion of our psyches, so we conveniently externalise our terror onto external terrorists. We are unable to look our imploding psyche in the face. And our imploding psyche is angry.
