That's something I like about him. He doesn't play the "game" or be a smooth operator. I actually despise smooth operators and run away silently screaming from them. Riker is the last person I'd be attracted to in STNG world. People who are polished socially are false, or if they have moments of sincerity you cannot tell the difference. I like people who are a little awkward but sincere. All I care about is authenticity, so if I were in Star Trek land, I would very likely date Geordi, and I recently watched the entire series so all the "cringe-worthy" moments are fresh in my mind. I'd date DATA first and not try to force him to be human, then Geordi, then Troi maybe because her hair leaves me in awe.
Ok, I understand where you're coming from. But being able to win someone over with words doesn't mean your feelings are any less genuine than someone who isn't smooth. They may both be equally genuine, it's just that one understand social cues.

I remember the one where he fell in love with the simulated hologram woman based on the designer of the enterprise. I don't think Data ever did anything so cringy, haha. He's more obvlious.

Once in high school this really hot, smart girl took the same way home as me. I was too oblivious to understand what that meant. Anyway I friended her on Facebook and she's still pretty awesome with really good politics and everything.

I like how Spock's character changed after his resurrection in Part 3. He becomes more childlike in Star Trek IV and V. In Star Trek VI he shows slight outward emotions, for instance he is PISSED when he finds out Valeris is a co-conspirator. Reborn Spock seems generally more mellow, wise, and at ease with his human half. To me, older Spock is the ideal to which the stoic philosophers might aspire.

Jadzia Dax
Kira Nerys
Leeta (Rom's woman)
Kasidy Yates (Sisko's woman)

Belanna full klingon version when she got split in two in that one episode

I was being silly with my list, but hypothetically, if I had to pick characters I thought were good "relationship material", then I would probably go for Jadzia or Kasidy Yates. Both seem like fun loving people who would help bring me out of my shell a bit. I couldn't be with someone like Troi because I would get tired of being read and feeling like I had to share my feelings all of the time. Plus she'd eat all of the chocolate ice cream.

TNG:
Sonya Gomez
Ensign Ro
Dr. Crusher
Troi (More physically my type than Dr. Crusher but less so personality wise)
Tasha Yar (Her character didn't really get too much time to get developed, so kind of a blank slate; I suppose that was why the actress quit. I think they gave Sonia Gomez more of a personality and she had a bit part in two episodes.)

those salamanders are smooooth and glossy
I find the moustache things on their snouts exude a certain raw erotic charisma.

I forgot about Sonya. Man, TNG was not short on cute ensigns.

It's too bad she wasn't made a semi-regular like they had originally planned. Major complaint I have with TNG is that they threw away side and supporting characters like disposable razors. I liked it whenever there were familiar junior crewmembers reappearing on the shows. DS9 elevated supporting guest stars to being equal to the main cast in compelling storylines and character arcs. Voyager did a decent job of bringing back supporting crew members but it was rare they got the development DS9 supporting characters got. Even TOS had a few semi regular guest crewmembers like Chapel, Kyle and Rand (too bad Rand was let go after season 1, they really did Grace Lee Whitney wrong).

Oh and why didn't Spock ever end up with Nurse Chapel in the prime timeline? They would have been perfect for each other. Chapel had a kind of distanced, clinical nature that I think would suit a vulcan mate well. I mean it was made obvious there were unrequited feelings with both parties

oh i saw that earlier :(

she was also good in Back to School. I think I always assumed she was british because of that movie. She had that weird mid-atlantic accent that is hard to peg to either side of the pond

if they hadn't brought back khan, who would be another good villain for Star Trek II?

My top picks would be:

Kor, Kang or Koloth (or better yet, all three, and I could see them basically doing what the klingons were doing in ST3, attempting to steal the Genesis secrets)
Captain Tracey (there would certainly be motive for revenge there)
Gary Mitchell
unnamed female Romulan commander
