In one-hundred year's hindrance,
A tragic tale of time's truculent jest,
There were two halves of one whole,
Where one living the other lay at rest.

The Sun sought his silver spouse,
In the dawn of day and through cloud's cover,
He searched the seas and oceans,
But he never found his lunar lover.

The Moon caught her golden god,
Descending downward as his light drew dim,
She called, she cried, as he died,
Reflecting bright in remembrance of him.
