I like to look at things in new ways. I'm always striving for a more accurate and more positive way of looking at something. My perception of the universe and everything in it, including myself, obviously has a large impact on my experience of life. If I can find the sweetness in a mean person or turn something I fear into something I can't stay away from, then I should be able to make myself think that cleaning is fun. :cheese:

How would I go about this? First I'll list the things that I don't like about cleaning. Well, it's kind of tedious and it takes up time. It's also a job that never ends. Why isn't twice a year good enough?

Next, I'll compare cleaning to something that I actually like doing in order to put it into perspective. Writing blog posts can also be tedious, but since I don't have any negative feelings about it, it doesn't bother me at all. I can actually enjoy the moment. It's also time consuming, but who cares? And I do this all the time. For what? I'm sure I'd benefit even more cleaning consistently than I would from blogging or posting on forums consistently.

Here's some things that I should like about cleaning. Cleaning makes me active. It makes me feel good, and being active makes my mind work even better. I get millions of ideas. I can write them down as I clean. Also, it's something I can do while listening to music. In fact, I can dance and enjoy myself as I clean. I'll never have to step around things. My place won't ever smell bad. I'll be more prepared. My home will be more accommodating to random visitors. I'll feel proud of myself. Things will be easier and I'll think better without all of the distraction.

Okay, that's all good and dandy, but there's still just one thing missing. Something new needs to enter my mind that is powerful enough to make this seem like something I'm really motivated to do. I'll chalk it up as this - it's better than sitting at my computer because I'm physically active and I'll still have better ideas. So in a way, I can enjoy the moment more than I would if I was just doing some random web-surfing, and it will have a better long term effect, too.

Alright, that's it. Dance time.

Well, that was fun. What a great start to my day off. LOL. And it's warmer than it's been in weeks. It's 26 and sunny! Usually the suns not out and when it is I completely miss it because I'm at work.

When I was cleaning and working, I took comfort in knowing that I could be at my computer enjoying myself whenever I wanted to. But then I thought about how what I wanted to do wasn't that much different than what I was actually doing. I wanted to sit at the computer, listen to music, and see where the Internet could take me. In other words, I'd be doing nothing special. Well, I was cleaning, listening to music, being productive, and thinking of things that I could do when I finished. 40 minutes of cleaning isn't a big deal - I can waste that much time on any ephemeral fancy, and I usually do. Looking it from the right perspective, it doesn't seem like much of a burden.
