I also never reported their
behavior. The most I did was flag them as a possible dupe, which I saw as beneficial because they have a pattern of initiating conflict with several others (not only me), thus causing forum unrest. My only other report was a request that they be blocked from my blogs for the prevention of additional problems, considering they literally just waltzed into my blog and started being passive-aggressive even while I was being neutral/friendly/nice/making conversation. I didn't even request for that to be moved to off-topic, I just moved on. So "ban them now because pissing match" never happened. The "ooh drama, how exciting!" comment (which is extremely far from how I am) is just an example of what's wrong with the moderation on this site. Someone asserts themselves a little in pure defense, uses a report button twice--and in a purely functionality-oriented way which was intended to either avoid more drama or help out the mods/forum, wasn't even me complaining about them--and then gets accused of this type of crap. Yes, I consider that being too heavy-handed in the sense that it exaggerates my actions, attributes negative motives that aren't there, and fails to take into account that I am not going around starting crap with people. Plus doesn't give people a little room to assert themselves, work through the conflict (some is normal in interaction) and resolve it/move on.
EDIT: Well, at least not while medicated, but the times I did cause problems were caused by loss of control over temper due to chemical imbalance / mania, which I withdrew from conflict once I realized that and explained about later on the feeling thread in the past. These days it's rare I forget meds though and all of that was before I returned. |
