Well Sir,
Hubby has high cholesterol and his doctor recommended that he get on the the South Beach Diet.
I will go through it with him, my cholesterol is just fine but it will make it easier for him to stay on if I join and hey the book says people lose 8 to 13 pounds in two weeks I think if I remember right.
So this will be interesting. I will need to go through our fridges and clean out the naughty no no foods. Congrats charity, lol. I have a lot to make goody bags with for the homeless now and stuff to give to the church.
You can't have any starches whatsoever the first 2 weeks! Not even fruit! After the first two weeks you can start reintroducing fruits, good starches and other foods. After you meet your goal you can bring back most things just more wisely.
Yikes Though!
The hardest sacrifice will be giving up ketchup. Tears are rolling down my eyes, lol.
Well at least I can have Balsamic Vinegar, Pesto and there is a recipe for a cucumber sauce! I would just have to die
if there were no flavorful sauces involved or allowed. Seriously I would wig out!
We'll try this diet out after his test next week as we don't want to add any stress onto an already stressful massive study week.
So oh boy- we'll see how this goes. Nothing like another adventure. I'm up for it and I hope hubby will get his cholesterol in check from it!
I'll support him and go through the fire with him.
I am now going to be in mourning for the good food that needs to be purged from our shelves, I'm gonna miss you terribly corn on the cob, I'll never forget you Fruit Juice, and Oh sweet Ketchup, I'll miss you most of all!!!
