JADE
plucked
from my hands by
Red Raven
was swallowed
gleefully
and with it
my heart.

To the sky
rose Raven
with my ambition
and sorrow
taunting
me crazed
from gray
clouds.

I followed
after
foul sounding
laughter,
my mind
left
on the mountain
raining.

No longer with
wings
do I cling
to the sky;
Hope dances
on the sea
without
me.

Still
I run
lost
in the woods
Obsidian night
falls
with glass-crack!
Raven laughs.

I like the imagery and natural symbols in this. It almost sounds like a more abstracted Native American mythology--intriguing.

Why thank you, sir.
What's weird is that I picked the image of Red Raven from my head because the person I was writing about originally was a red head and I've always loved alliteration. Then a few years later, I did some studying of Native American Trickster mythology and realized the the Raven is the trickster in some Pacific Northwest tribes. This was exactly the personality I wanted for the Red Raven. Strange!

Interesting! This is fascinating anecdotal evidence for Jung's concept of archetypes! :)

Beware of brother coyote, as he can be quite the ornery one too! :D
