Today was the longest day EVER. I had to go into work at 8 Am and ended up arriving at 7:25, because i hate being late.
I grabbed some coffee and went ahead and clocked in. I had a few mini courses to complete on the computer, so i finished those, and i actually got to start my on the job training.

The job is really easy. you scan an item, you put it in the bag, you scan the next item, you put it in the bag. I know i will get very very tired of the repetition after about a week. I will also probably get fired for being absent minded and clumsy. The job requires that you pay close attention to detail, which isn't exactly my strongest skill. I'll probably end up scanning one item 10 times.

I did really well today though, the lady who was training me said that most people don't catch on as quickly as i did. She probably says that to everyone, but it at least made me feel like i wasn't a failure.

By the time i got home, i pretty much thought i was going to die. I was completely drained. NO ENERGY WHATSOEVER. Talking and interacting with all those customers has really taken a toll on me. I was so happy to be home, although it was a mess because mike and brady had been home all day. I ended up falling asleep for a couple of hours, although it was like i never slept at all, because i was dreaming that i was at wal-mart working.

blah, i have to go in at 8 tomorrow and work until 4. That is one hour longer than i worked today. I hope i don't die. It's an easy job, it shouldn't be this hard.

I know all about easy and repetitive jobs, I had several! My current job can be repetitive but there's enough unknown stuff thrown in there that it keeps it interesting most of the time, plus I really like most of the people I work with. :)

I think the lady is correct and you will do just fine although it may always a be a real pain to deal with the repetition it sucks. You will get tougher as the days go by, being new at anything can be stressful.
