I meant to write this sooner:
My mom, the ISTJ, is great with remembering special occasions and giving cards. She brought over some presents for my 50th birthday in January. Inside the card, besides the sentiment, she wrote some other things, one of them being, "I loved you even before you were born". I cried when I read it. Those words were especially meaningful to me because I spent most of my life feeling unloved and unwanted. I was an unplanned baby. I once heard my father fighting with my mother about how he hadn't wanted me. It was a long time coming, but it was like the Balm of Gilead to my hungry heart, and I appreciated her attempt at making things right. Now that I'm not depressed any more, I was able to receive the love instead of rejecting it, like I used to do. Anyhow... if you're a parent... it's never too late to tell your children how you really feel.
