I've discussed with multiple people the particular dynamics of this forum, and part of it is that because of the way the rules are set up, trolls can run rampant as long as they don't use particular words or phrase things a certain way; in fact there's also a sub-set of people here who enjoy petting and defending their favorite trolls (I'm guilty of it too in the past with JTG1984).
Another reason is because I am "notorious" here and I will never be able to start afresh because all of the people who literally follow me around as soon as I set foot on the forum, no matter where I post or what I say(Nico, Professor Killjoy, just to name two of the main ones) ...and even people who are not trolls who have had any kind of issue with me in the past regard me with a kind of obvious biased behavior.
Then of course you've got the mods giving people infractions for completely bizarre things that I don't even think are technically against the rules, like posting pictures of Chernobyl victims in a thread about nuclear war.
I also swear that this forum is more Fe than Personality Cafe, which seems better suited to Fi users. I am not making this up, but the Fe group mentality here drives me batty because it honestly, in my opinion, leads to a lack of intellectual objectivity and even an absurd "repress everything and be nice and speak politely" attitude even toward the most sinister people who frequent this forum.
Finally, I think this forum triggers me in such a way that I actually behave more defensively and "Te hammer" here than I do on other forums where I am free to use my Fi without any kind of fear of being mocked or trolled.
So I am constantly in an uncomfortable Te hammer mode when I am here, except for the rare occasions that I actually enjoy a thread. So then I'm even harsh with people who don't deserve it.
I used to look at this place as a forum to stretch my intellect, debate skills, mental toughness, and exposure to different kinds of people but overall NOW I see it as some kind of hellish backwoods (and this is just statistically confirmed by the fact that Typology Central is doing worse overall in numbers than Personality Cafe).
I love a lot of the people here, and I come back for those people, or out of habit, but it's really an unhealthy and bad idea move.
I am so much less angry when I do not visit this forum.
