Grocery Woes

So I am up again. My whole body feels like a jagged edge. :steam: My muscles hurt. If I take a hot shower or bath I feel normal for about 30 min. Nothing really works. They always feel like they need to be stretched when they get like this, but that just makes it all worse.

My husband is going to be really bugged if I start staying up at nights again, but I toss and turn when I am like this and he starts like getting restless and I feel like he isn't getting a deep sleep so I finally just get up.

Anyway on to the big grocery rant...

So I have this problem with vertigo/nausea, gosh I whine enough about it, especially in relation with motion. The grocery store is a particular problem because husband hates dealing with the details and if I ride in the car to the store, I am dizzy and sick and it is hard to concentrate.

I was getting grocery delivery service and it worked out great, I could order exactly what we needed and it comes to the door.

Well, lately each time I get a delivery, we get these really big bees in here! They have to be coming in on those bags somehow, we never had them any other time.

I am not only scared of bees, but if the cat gets spider bitten she's got to get adreneline shot and so I am afraid of her getting stung and me being afraid of the bees, I am not the best bee killer but I did pretty fair the past four we got but statistically the odds don't seem good.

So my husband was starting to go to the store instead, but then last Tues he got stopped by this really aggressive panhandler in the dark parking lot and that creeped him out.

On Sat, while he swiping his card to pay for the order, here comes a man with a semi-automatic and holds the checker up.

So now we think him going to the store at night not such a hot idea, but if he didn't go then, he has to go before work and that isn't going to happen. Let's just be honest.

Now I am thinking that I will get grocery delivery on Saturdays, when he is here so he can kill the bees if we get any.

One would not think there would be all this drama associated with the damned groceries.

Two solutions come to mind - either call the service to complain about the bees or get another service?

My mom doesn't drive and shops with a friend.

Good luck with the bees/shopping.

Driving is not the problem, my husband can drive, I am just a sick mess once I get anywhere and totally wiped out or dopped up on Dramamine. I have a really hard time shopping when I feel dizzy and sick and it is hard to think about what I need to get even with a list.

He really has a hard time with the details himself (inferior Se, No Te) when he goes alone and it seems just one more burden my vertigo puts on him. Like he wants a list that goes in exact order of the store and they keep changing things around and it is hard for me to know.

There is only chain here that still does the delivery. There's an organic store that does it but they are too expensive and don't have everything the store does.

The grocery store blew me off about the bees.

So next time I will just schedule a delivery when he is home. If we open the window the bees seem to fly right to it and then trap them between the screen and the glass and they die in there. We can use the two person approach maybe. Can't use bee spray because it makes me feel sicker.

What a ridiculous problem about bees in the shopping bags! :D

My mom used to have a panic disorder that made her feel nauseated in the store, and my dad was ill-equipped to do a full shop, so she took a mild tranquilizer which got her through. But she really hated shopping.

I can relate to being discombobulated in large grocery stores. I dislike the bright lights and crazy impulse items; many aisles of stuff in a huge store is hard to manage. My way is to go up and down all the aisles of TJ of our smallish chain grocery store. If I don't do that, inevitably I forget something.

Sounds like the bees are the lesser of two evils. I quite like grocery delivery services.. manage the insects and you are spared the trauma and or hold ups of visiting the store.

The other trick that works for me, is to go to the store out of hours but not dangerously late..

I don't think I knew you had a cat, before.. but I guess it makes sense. INFPs always need a familiar /teasing.

I like to make my lists in the order of the store. I hate backtracking.

Grocery shopping is such a chore. It stinks that they wouldn't listen about the bees, but it sounds like you have a good solution worked out.

Yes, plus if I do the shopping, we will spend less money. He cannot deal with things like what's on sale and such.

Err. husband sat around all day Sat dreading the store and went out at 7PM, hold up happened at 8:30 PM, the store was full of people. The police say that is the 4th time for that store in two months.

That's what my husband calls her, my familiar. We like the movie Pywackett...I can't spell that and too lazy to look it up. My mind is so tired today.
