You were there at my worst. Egging on my narcissistic tendencies. Reflecting to me my imperfections. Complimenting the worst in me. You made me feel invincible, impracticable, human. Mistakes were a given, love was taken. Like a songbird mid flight you made me believe that I had wings all along.

Never was there a warning of the storm brewing ahead. Climbing into thunderous skies. You made me believe that I can arise above that. With an inflated ego that could make the smallest balloon raise an army of raving men and women, I rose above the storm.

Faults are faults for a reason.

You made me feel as if I was a God.

But I was just a bird amongst a brewing pot of raising humidity and clashing cold winds. The world that I was going to take by storm vanished underneath my wings. Tumbling through storm brewing skies, up was down. The wind, once a companion beneath my wings, became my Achilles.

I have flown for so long I have forgotten where I began. I had no home, no place to rest, no land in which to take a breath. You made me forget the beginning, head so in the clouds that I have forgotten that the sun is blinding.

So I fell, crashed back to where I began. Into the reflection of the worst of me.

By the time I swim myself out, the ripples would have settled. I will look back, and remind myself-- only to see you there, smiling back from the surface of the clam waters. My opposite, my vise.

Rinse and Repeat.
