TORONTO -- An investigational drug aimed at schizophrenia was safe and well tolerated in a phase II trial, a researcher said here.

The drug, a serotonin 5-HT2A receptor antagonist dubbed ITI-007, had a side effect profile that was not significantly different from placebo in a phase II trial, according to Kimberly Vanover, PhD, of Intra-Cellular Technologies in New York City, which is developing the medication.

Hopefully its worth the hype. Risperdal is a really nasty drug with all its side effects(friend needs to take it pretty huge amounts along with other drugs) and it would be good to get an alternative for it with less side effects.

Uh don't get me started on Risperdal. I took it for anxiety in the past. Never again.
