Dueling Procrastination

I'm being so bad. I have this story that's due in hmm... less than three weeks now, and I'm almost actively doing everything I can to avoid working on it. Tonight I got home, ate, did my typical post-getting-home net reading, deciding all the while I'd get some stuff written tonight...

At which point the small pile of bills I'd been avoiding paying for a week just HAD to get paid. Then I just HAD to walk down the street to the shopping center to put them in the mailbox, as I'd not have a convenient time to do so tomorrow. Then, I just HAD to check the forums again. And of course, now I'm writing this blog entry.

I'm so bad . On the other hand, the story-procrastination did get those bills paid . Now I think I'll go make some notes on a new story - perhaps the reason I'm not working on my current one is that I'm more enamored with another idea - even if it's one that my professor and most of my classmates will probably deride. Might be fun though... so off I go.

Useful procrastination. I'm not sure how I'd survive without it. I procrastinate doing something by doing another things I need to get done. But usually, it is just plain procrastination.
