Differences between INFJs and INFPs

When it comes to typing, especially artists, I have realised that it is easier for me to recognise that the given person that you are trying to type is an INFx, but a lot harder to distinguish between INFJ and INFP, despite they using completely different cognitive functions. However, one difference I found that seems to be accurate is studying how the person “perceives themselves”. I know it sounds in a way, hard to scientifically define how to do so, but as intuitives, we are generally good at connecting the dots, without being very aware of how we did so. The difference would be that I have observed:

• INFJs tend to have this constant more mature and intellectual, somewhat a bit deity-like nature, they seem to be more refrained from the outside world and carry themselves as having to bear the weight of having something, as in a wisdom, or aura of sorts, they would not really explain to others, yet they keep making this exchange between that special part of themselves and others.

• INFPs, while also having this persona, from time to time, they seem much more connected to the real world, and, they have times where they allow themselves to be more childish, feeling the need to express themselves to their true nature, therefore and find it much more easy to get over this barrier of social constraints and show themselves as they are, even if that is imperfect and flawed, INFPs tend to embrace it.

What do you think about these observations? I am an INTJ, so, I have common functions with both INFJ and INFP but I may never fully know what it means to be either.

Yes, that's a good observation which gets very much at the heart of the (visible) difference between them.

Ni-Doms in general back away from a subject but then study it from a distance through a microscope or a telescope. They have a quality of "floating above life." And it's pretty much a steady state with them.

Fi-Doms, on the other hand, are all about community and people: Values, emotions, and all that. But they have a love/hate relationship with community (because of introversion), so they alternate between being "chilly" or "aloof" versus diving in and participating and even becoming goofy and silly.
