Back to religion, I think I would enjoy listening to a pastor who would be more like a teacher (and would probably even start going to church on a regular basis). But I wonder if a church like that would end up with a lot of agnostic members?
I imagine this is how a unitarian universalist church works. From what I've read about it, it's people of many faiths who meet for support. The local UU fellowship offers religious education on a wide variety of subjects and emphasis is placed on thinking for yourself and finding your own way. I've never been, but I might try it someday. I'm agnostic but apparently I'm welcome too. I think agnostics are often attracted to this kind of church because they can draw from many different wells of knowledge in developing their own personal philosophy.
