Am I late for the party? This year, my top 3 is James Blake, Nicolas Jaar and SBTRKT. That's in ascending order.
No women. I think women this year completely swiped the floor with rock: from St. Vincent (what an amazing album!) to The Kills, to the return of Carrie Brownstein with Wild Flag, to obviously PJ Harvey. Women completely rocked!!! Men were quite mediocre throughout, with a lot of indie 'sensitive' guys. But the only guys I'll keep in my 'best of' lists are those three: Blake, Jaar and SBTRKT. Great albums. Anything I'm forgetting?
