He was looking at the glass at first. Then he looked past it, but it wasn't the same as if the glass wasn't there. Somehow looking through it seemed more natural to him that looking directly at whatever's on the other side. It's like viewing a world you're not a part of.

Back then, he didn't really understand why this felt so comforting. Well, he's not so sure now either, just has a better idea.

"Aren't these the most gorgeous Ballet shoes Carol!"
"Yes! And they're so durable!!!! Even if you're not into it yourself they're always great to give to a loved one."
"You're so right Carol. Guys, don't brush this deal off. You know you've got some special someone who would love a pair."

He's half a way and slightly irritated by the home shopping network. He tries to go back to sleep but the voices are loud. The volumes full blast on the T.V.. He fishes around for the remote. Nothing. Wait...there it is!!! On top of the T.V.. Wait, what!! ON TOP OF THE T.V.?!?! That means getting up. He sure as hell doesn't want to hear HSN full blast. So, it's up on his feet and a walk towards the T.V..

This is an everyday thing. Put your T.V. on the most obnoxious channel you can think of, crank up the volume, set the alarm and place the remote control ON the T.V.. Make sure it's on the other side of the room. If you need soothing music to put you to sleep, make a very large play list that will end before it's time for you to wake up [in his case, a CD with the same song on it 34 times. Placed in a CD player with nearly dead batteries and set on repeat].

He's thinking, he's already up and it's time to get ready for school, no use going back to bed now. There're things to do today.

As he's walking through the halls half awake. He's disconnected, everyone else is sociallizing and doing whatever it is that highschool kids do. He's walking past his homeroom class and takes a glimpse through the glass while passing. Then takes a seat in the back of class.

The teacher drones and drones, he's not paying attention. It doesn't matter he already studied it in his free time.
