How long till Bernie is literally Hitler in the mainstream media?
He's not hitler, but I fear he may be having the "one thing will solve everything if only we get elected," mentality of middle eastern Political Islamists.

Watch as it takes days to count the votes from California, crazy people will be spreading conspiracy theories faster than a bad case of herpes.

My point was to iterate how the media will treat him, to support Biden. As they tend to attack people's character and paint them to be the "bad guy". Hitler is a common comparison in politics. The media has called Trump, "Literally Hitler" as well. As have many in social media. Hence my usage of the term for comedic effect that also annoys, but is also right. I am already seeing smears towards Sanders.

Obviously we won't know until late tonight or possibly tomorrow, but if Biden only does well in southern states (most of which are likely to go Republican in 2020) tonight, are people still going to argue how he's more "electable"?

Of course. The high journalistic standards of the corporate media (the noble defenders of democracy that we've heard so much about these days) will obviously push that in the interest of "objectivity."

Oh, and I think the plan is to try and prevent Bernie from getting a majority of delegates so they can call in the superdelegates and anoint Biden. He doesn't necessarily need to win the most votes, as long as he prevents the other guy from getting enough. That way, they can put someone in who has the foreign policy chops to defend American democracy against Russian interference.

Did Joe Biden have a stroke since being VP? Something is wrong with him.

I don’t know the details of his health situation, but it makes my blood boil when people make so much fun of him these days. He’s an old man deserving of respect.

I don't want him going up against Donald Trump in the general. There's this idea that he's an "electable" candidate, and I'm quite sorry, but it's obvious from watching him talk that this is complete horseshit. I wouldn't be making any of these jokes if I didn't have to worry about him winning the nomination and handing Donald Trump a second term. I even eased up on him when it looked like Bloomberg would be ascendant.

I believe in "respect my elders" to a point, but not to the point where I feel like it puts my entire future at risk. In this case, I value the future of myself, the planet, and the nation over the theoretical feelings of one rich old dude who will never see my posts. I realize my posts don't matter that much in the general scheme of things, but they help me let off much needed steam.

Tar and feather me, if you will. He has a political career; he knows (or at least should know) the heat that would draw. I tolerate people saying worse stuff about my candidate all the time.

I have no wish to tar and feather you (the feathering would likely be redundant in any case ). I wasn’t thinking of any posts you or any other person has made here. I was just letting off my own steam from frustration with society in general.

I think the worst part of it is that only those close to Biden, who knew how he was and the fire it would draw could encourage him to run, and did it anyway. Now he’s treated as a laughing stock. I’m not a fan of his, but I think he deserved better than to be pressured into this. He should be busy lobbying for a park to be named after him, where he can spend time with his grandchildren.

Fwiw I do think Sanders will earn the nomination, barring political games from the DNC.

Yeah, I think he was pressured into it by people who hoped he could stop Bernie Sanders, despite not having much interest. I remember last time, people kept talking about if Biden would enter the race for some reason, even though he never announced anything. I'll bet people were pressuring him then, too.

About the feathering, I suppose I'm concerned that additional feathers would impair my aerodynamics.

A while back I had a post about this. Since from the start it was obvious he will carry the South which he wouldn't keep in GE. While states where people can and want to vote blue will not be too fired up. If Bernie takes convincingly the key states strategic logic simply dictates what should happen at the convention. (if you really play to win)

Sanders and Trump. But those two are the ones with all the excitement on their sides. Which leads me to believe it will be between them.

I'm praying for Bernie to make it through to the general election, or at least have enough support to run the entire primary season. The guy's an 80-year-old nutbag. (78 actually, but who's counting.) He's been a crackpot all his life, and he's a crackpot now. He's the news announcer on "Network" who goes insane and shouts "We're made as hell and we're not going to take it anymore" as his coworkers gleefully keep their cameras trained on him and enjoy the high viewer ratings that ensue.

One way or the other this is the end for Bernie. It's his swan song. So I'm hoping for a roller coaster ride and maybe a big finish. Maybe he'll catch coronavirus on the campaign trail and do a big poetic death scene.

Or maybe he'll even be elected to the presidency. But don't expect much from him if he's elected. He was a big nobody as a senator from Vermont. He just occupies a post, makes some noise, but otherwise fades into insignificance. He's held lots of power in his life, and he has done absolutely nothing with it. Expect more of the same if he somehow makes it into the presidency. (I suppose the same could be said of Biden by the way, but at least he's a team player who wouldn't actively obstruct better people around him.)

But I'm definitely feeling the Bern. I like my politics spicy, and Bernie's good for drama and ratings. (But not much of anything else during his long life in politics).

Are you a Republican?

You should know that plenty of folks voting for him don't view him as the whole package, just part of it. His presidency is not the end, but the beginning. They're more strategic and pragmatic than you realize, they're just not craven.

Independent: Liberal on social policy and middle of the road on other things like economics, foreign policy, etc.

When it comes to the presidency, I've voted most of my life for Democrats. But I feel free to switch teams if the price is right. Like I said, I like my politics spicy. Bread and circus, as they say. I've always disliked Trump, but I have to admit that he's a fun ride. He brings the spice.
