I'd like to see Tom Green star in a remake of El Topo written by Larry Cohen and directed by a pre-00s Peter Jackson. The original isn't strange enough, but, put into the right hands, I think this film could do some damage.
- Plan 9 from Outer Space, Sam Raimi
- Brokeback Mountain, Baz Luhrmann
[*]Nudist Colony of the Dead, Tom Hooper
[*]Alien 3, David Fincher
I like this game, I wanna play:
- Plan 9 from Outer Space, Sam Raimi
- Brokeback Mountain, Baz Luhrmann
- Citizen Kane, Robert Zemeckis
- Dirty Harry, Martin Scorsese
- Nudist Colony of the Dead, Tom Hooper
- Forbidden Planet, Steven Spielberg
- Alien 3, David Fincher
Why stop there?
Raging Bull - Jane Campion
Schindler's List - Michael Bay
Bad Boys - Gus Van Sant
Casablanca - Paul Verhoeven
Taxi Driver - Ron Howard
Fatal Attraction - Michael Haneke
Actually, I think that last one would be pretty amazing.
Yes, I'm sure he could manage to make Taxi Driver into a heart warming tale.Ron Howard would direct anything.
[*]Schindler's List, Tim Burton, starring Johnny Depp as Oscar Schindler, Paul Reubens as Iztak Stern, and Helena Bonham Carter as Amon Goeth
*shudder*[*]Saving Private Ryan, Michael Bay
Genius. I'm sure he could really extend those rape scenes and add some graphic mutilation to spice it up. Sadly, I don't think it's possible for him to stereotype Southerners as any more ignorant, sadistic, and in-bred than the original already does - but who knows, he may find a way.[*]Deliverance, Eli Roth
A sadder, subtler, more realistic, more faithful and extremely long movie-series (by the time I'm old this will be an acceptable form of entertainment) with a huge budget and shot in New Zealand again pleaseI'd actually like to see something with Tolkien that had a little more depth.
Yay NZ!A sadder, subtler, more realistic, more faithful and extremely long movie-series (by the time I'm old this will be an acceptable form of entertainment) with a huge budget and shot in New Zealand again please
*still have high hopes for the other two Hobbit films
The Harry Potter movies!
Already?
Yay NZ!
Do you know the filmed Hobbiton about a 20 minute drive from where I live? My Auntie and Uncle used to have a farm out that way too, that I spent my childhood running around.
Anyway back OT: it's hard to think of films to remake. IMO for the most part, you shouldn't really remake good films - only ones that had some good concepts but were lacking in the first place. So basically you're trying to come up with a list of unremarkable or forgettable films.
