Only Sith deal in absolutes.
I did a Star Wars marathon this weekend, heh.
Though yeah, obvi, psychologists are worth it. Psychocognitive healing is an important and blameless intent.
Sorry, dude, perhaps your geekdom blinds you to reality...
Look , you've been dismissive of me, why must I accept you? Stop watching The Empire Strikes Back and get with the real world, not your subjective projection of it...
You mustn't. This is your pejorative, not mine.
I think this guy might be a troll. just saying
I'm not offended, I was actually giving you the benefit of the doubt by saying you were probably a troll. The only other option is severely delusional
You're posting in this thread alone leads me to suspect there's more to this than meets the eye.
I think there's grounds to believe, from this thread alone, that you're rationalising your behaviour, behaviour you admittedly dont want to give up or refrain from and which are being challenged by your therapist rather than validated.
If you are supposed to be working with a therapist to overcome or change this behaviour and you are unwilling to have it challenged I'm really not sure what you will achieve. There's too much resistance for analysis, if its a depth psychologist, if its cognitive behaviour therapy, rational emotive behaviour therapy or any of the variations on those themes then there's really has to be a desire to change in the client.
Like I say you're finding fault in the therapeutic process and your therapist but you should be looking to your self instead.
Yeah, I figured it out back when I was still posting in this thread. I also have a suspiscion its something more sinister than that but I dont really have much evidence for it at this juncture.
This thread has sort of turned into a shitshow.
@danseen, I'm sorry for the bad experiences that you have had; clearly you've been treated unfairly. But at least in the United States, where I live, the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) and the American Psychological Association (APA) both set ethical standards and address malpractice complaints. Before licensure is granted, psychologists here must take ethics coursework and pass ethics exams, and licensure can be revoked on the basis of unethical practice. Lying, cruelty, mockery, telling you that you deserve harm, informing you that your beliefs are wrong, and personally targeting you are all fair game for complaint to the professional associations that monitor psychological practice. If you feel like you were wronged and that it has caused lasting damage, I would gather all the factual evidence you can and present it to whatever the professional regulatory association for psychologists is in your area, and file a formal complaint.
Beyond that, though, I do not think it is fair to group all psychologists as hating or not comprehending modern values, or as being out to get you. I am friends with quite a few psychologists who are not at all like the people you have described. They are open and compassionate about their work.
Are you sure? Psychologists believe their opinions to be absolute truth you know, guided by God/the Universe itself...
Well I simply dislike psychologists since they are dishonest and pushy people.
You assert that "I don't know you", well you don't know me but you judge me lol.. Seemingly for a student of the science, you don't get human conduct. Unless you can prove how human beings are owed others' attention, or how your need for attention is superior to others? I want concrete evidence, not metaphysical nonsense as the "profession" cites.
lulz..
OK, so the general attitude here is that:
- Doing what the many do is "ill"
- Many uni students engage in no strings sex, but because you and idiot psychologists say so, it makes it so.
- You presume "only some people" can do things, yet this is a metaphysical/spiritual point and not a scientific one. Presumably you're threatened that somebody is encroaching on your perceived territory, but so what, your thoughts/needs don't supersede others..
no. no they're not.
You know you're Ni, not Ti.
Hehehehe.
danseen may I inquire what country you are posting from?
er.. I'm British.
I think in our country the profession has been co-opted by the PC agenda.
This is why most of their practitioners say that because their clients live in "big houses" (and mine is no much "bigger" than many others in my town) i deserve to be "beaten up and harassed", or that "intelligent people" "should" be religious or be using that to assist all other people. ok, so yes Stalin and Hitler were dullards haha..
