So while I'm not normally this type

is Biden going to have the intense investigation Kavanaugh did after the sexual assault accusation? Is it not bias if he does not? Why does he get a pass? Because he is a democrat and Obama endorsed him?

Probably not, unfortunately. That would have only happened if it was allegations against someone like Bernie Sanders (which probably wouldn't have happened anyway because he's not a piece of shit).

I don't even bother bringing that stuff up to family members because I know it would get dismissed as Fox News propaganda.

I read this about Labour sabotaging a general election in the U.K because they didn't like Jeremy Corbyn. Honestly, I can see the Democratic party pulling the same kind of antics. Maybe it's just as well that Sanders didn't get the nomination; they'd probably sabotage the thing and then blame it on him being "too far left" so they could run more shitstains like Biden for the next 100 years. On the other hand, I can't see the Democrats losing to Trump again with another "electable" candidate working out very well for the establishment, though.

I think the democrats should take 1 note from Trump's book:

he was considered the least electable person of the group and won. What's the worst that could happen for Dems?

Well, given the U.K story, I'm considering the hypothesis more likely that they'd rather have Donald Trump get reelected than have someone like Sanders win. It's mind-boggling on the surface, but evidently something similar actually happened in the U.K. Certainly, if we see another lackluster campaign repeating all the same beats of Hillary's run (which looks likely), that will support that further. They put a great deal of energy and efficiency into stopping Sanders; if they couldn't do that for Trump, I'd have to think it was by design.

However, even if the establishment of the Democratic party considers Biden losing to Trump a preferable outcome than Sanders winning, I don't think that would work out as well for them as they think.

Ms. Reade made her new allegation public as Mr. Biden was closing in on the Democratic presidential nomination after winning a string of primaries against his chief rival, Senator Bernie Sanders. Ms. Reade, who describes herself as a “third-generation Democrat,” said she originally favored Marianne Williamson and Senator Elizabeth Warren in the race but voted for Mr. Sanders in the California primary last month. She said her decision to come forward had nothing to do with politics or helping Mr. Sanders

Yeah, right.

Yeah, right.

You either believe all women or you don't. It's kind of dumb to make that the hashtag slogan of a movement if that isn't going to apply to political bigwigs and washington insiders.

As for myself, I've never been comfortable with "believe all women" because, just from what I've observed of people, there are people out there who would actually be inclined to make stuff like that up.

I think Reade is telling the truth, though. It's not like he doesn't have a reputation for being handsy, and then there's the Anita Hill thing.

This is why it was dumb to nominate him; he's got all kinds of baggage that's going to be hard to shed. Since Sanders (or even warren) were unacceptable, they should have gotten behind Kamala Harris (or maybe Cory Booker), so they can do the woke thing. I expect she'd have enough of a shield from some of the more questionable aspects of her time as DA.

Irrational comment.

I mean, the sad thing is that the same people who were outraged at the "grab em by the pussy" thing are now going to feel obliged to defend the Democratic candidate on this. That's not a great position to be in headed into the election.

this is a solid point. I found Trump's comments appalling, and part of the reason I did not feel morally right voting for him beyond stop and frisk and etc. had a lot to do with the way he seems to think he can treat women without repercussions.

and I really hate the thought of voting Biden in now too, for similar reasons. I like since it a democrat though, everyone suddenly sees it as propaganda to keep the dems out... I wish there was an option for someone who DOESN'T treat women like shit or act like a fucking creep.

It's really unfortunate how little integrity people have when it comes to politics.

I don't feel like "don't support people who rape women" is a particularly high bar to clear. At that point, it's not a matter of idealism, just having any sense of moral standards at all.

From what I have seen at least the polls seem to be on the Biden's side. Supposedly since the seniors don't like the expandable stamp.

I'm not concerned about the players dying, I'm concerned about the election and keeping it corruption-free.

I debated about whether or not to post this, and I ultimately decided I should. People ought to know if more evidence come out, even if it 's inconvenient. Moreover, brining it to light might help people prepare better defenses than "Fox News propaganda" when it comes up again in the general election. This is going to get brought up anyway, after all. Trump never shied from mentioning the indiscretions of Hillary's husband, after all.

NEW EVIDENCE SUPPORTING CREDIBILITY OF TARA READE’S ALLEGATION AGAINST JOE BIDEN EMERGES

On August 11, 1993, King aired a program titled, “Washington: The Cruelest City on Earth?” Toward the end of the program, he introduces a caller dialing in from San Luis Obispo, California. Congressional records list August 1993 as Reade’s last month of employment with Biden’s Senate office, and, according to property records, Reade’s mother, Jeanette Altimus, was living in San Luis Obispo County. Here is the transcript of the beginning of the call:

KING: San Luis Obispo, California, hello.

CALLER: Yes, hello. I’m wondering what a staffer would do besides go to the press in Washington? My daughter has just left there, after working for a prominent senator, and could not get through with her problems at all, and the only thing she could have done was go to the press, and she chose not to do it out of respect for him.

KING: In other words, she had a story to tell but, out of respect for the person she worked for, she didn’t tell it?

CALLER: That’s true.

Admittedly, it's not a smoking gun, but it does lend more weight to Reade's claims. Certainly, people ought to be aware of these new facts rather than deny their existence. I get that people are anxious about the election, but frankly, I'm not comfortable with sweeping things under the rug just because they are inconvenient. It certainly doesn't help the case; it's not behavior people have respect for.

I will vote for Biden regardless because I've voted for people I considered terrible in the past, but to me, this doesn't mean shying away from the possibility of him having done something like this. I hope that his doesn't become a campaign about morality and "respectability" of the office when a candidate like this is on the ticket. I can justify my vote based on Trump's response to the coronavirus; I do think Biden would be likely to have respect for his advisors in this particular matter.

I think, though, that if we get six months of being hammered by "grab em by the pussy" while sweeping this stuff under the rug, we're in serious trouble. For any of the moderates for whose sake it was so important to nominate Biden, they're going to be able to sniff that out and are going to have trouble seeing it as anything other than a double standard.

At this point it’s irrelevant. If Biden killed someone I’d vote for him over Trump. I’d just press for him to be investigated and removed from office after the election is over. This election is about removing Trump from office.

Below is a post I made a few years back reaching out to then-candidate Doug Jones after the Roy Moore scandal broke.
