:edit Work in progress. Fine tuning.
I am working on examples of what seems like each function to me and how I experience them. Here are the definitions I came up with.
E - is being able to control externally
I - is being able to experience internally
On this note those that take control are E and is what they are good at. I dont think that it gives them energy, it is more because it is what they are good at the are able to go out and get the energy, the feedback they are looking for. E types are all external drivers, I types are internal experiencers
S - dynamics
N - relations
T- thought
F - feelings
Ti - internal thought. Its analyzing what I percieve to why I think it happened. Basically everything here is from Ti analyzing what I percieved. It is purely objective. It feels like putting together a puzzle in your head. You have all these pieces and need to fit them together. Some pieces are still upside down and need to be seen so you can continue on the puzzle. Like a puzzle you can only piece together the pieces you can see.
Te - external thinking. If I do or say xyz I can get them to do abc. If I say I am tired I will be left alone. If I do this he will do that and then I can do this. A non verbal form would be a chess game where your moves are done to try to get the other person to perform certain moves.
Se - external senses. It is controling your surrounding. In a car its like a fluid motion where you respond in real time smoothly to the other cars on the road. You can weave in and out of traffic with no plan in mind, just changing and responding every second. On a jetski this is freestyle mode. I control its everymove. I respond to everywave, not focusing on the interaction, but focusing on how I need to respond to make it do what I want to do. I watch everything around me and respond as I twist and turn and jump.
Si - internal sensing. This is internally sensing the movement of things. I have used both Se and Si on a jet ski. with Si I seemed to get lost in movement of the jetski interacting with the waves. You need a plan, because my lack of plan made me go head on towards a boat. You open your eyes, get a plan and theoretically close them to focus internally hence less use of external perception. I lost focus of my external environment and became one with the jetski and the waves. I focus on how the jetski interacts with each and every wave. Its like tunnel vision compared to Se. In this mode I need everyone else to pay attention and I need a plan of action to follow so I can zone out of my external surrounding and focus on my internal senses. I focus on how my legs act like shock absorbers, how the jetski bounces around under me. I lose the big picture, it dissappears until I snap out of this mode. I cant focus on Se and Si at the same time.
Ne - this seems to be relating things together. I saw a statue and it caused me to think stick bug. Someone said something that made me thing of a song. This is used to control ideas.
Ni - internal abstract thought. The concept of what I wrote is Ni. Its personal ideas, concepts, and theories. Its taking what I read, tearing it apart, comparing it to what I see and keeping what fits with what I see.
Fe - is external feelings. you know what to do to steer, control feelings. If I say this they will feel this way. The better it knows the person the more control it has since feelings are very personal. They can push you by affecting your feelings toward things.
Fi - is internal feelings. You think to yourself how would I feel. They put themselves in that situation and see what feelings come up.
edit: Can other types try to give similiar examples of use of functions. that relate to what I have. I am looking for real life experiences where you were consumed in one of the functions.
