I know, this seems like a weird question, because it seems like "shy" and ExTJ (and ESTP too, I think) don't go in the same sentence, but I do wonder about this.

Is it too personal to ask what kind of things might make you feel shy, SD45T-2?

I think it happened more when I was a kid. Stuff like being in an unfamiliar place where I didn't know anybody.

My ESTJ step-mother isn’t shy in the sense of being tongue-tied in company. But she worries about what kind of impression she makes on people. She knows that she can be harsh in her judgements, competitive, argumentative, “unfeminine,” etc. So she doesn’t really have any friends or a social life. As far as I know, she doesn’t try to reach out and socialize outside the house.

That suits my father. My father’s an ISTP, so he prefers not to have much of a social life anyway. So the two of them pretty much stay home and don’t interact with people outside the family. Luckily for her, it’s a big family. :)

My ESTJ grandpa could come off as sort of shy, I think. But it's really that he wouldn't say something or participate in a conversation unless he had a good reason to, so it seemed to me.
