1) What aspect of your personality made you unsure of your type?
Okay, I'm going to try not to give everything away here, but a whole lot.
Some people read me as an F type. I definitely have some F type tendencies but T seems to win out? Specifically, people go with Fi user and my understanding is that these types tend towards emotionally deep and very concerned with authenticity and abhor fakeness. I have no problem with putting on a show, and being many things, though I'd say it's at least with honesty. The world of personal relationships is not really my comfort zone.
Also the whole I/E thing. I tend to score ambiverted. Pretty much everyone who has ever met me would consider me an introvert. But I have some tendencies that could be seen as extroverted. I participated in community theater and an improv group and got a big kick out of that. I'm kind of sensation seeking. Love rollercoasters, loud upbeat music, have no problem doing karaoke. I can feel trapped, bored in any situation where I don't have the opportunity to interact with something. Whether that is in quarantine or I'm in a big party where it's too loud to have a conversation or do anything other than drink. With most people, I am very quiet and I have to be careful to find that balance between not bored and overwhelmed.
S/N tends to not be an issue. I can be attuned to details and have perhaps some sensing type interests. I like experiencing the finer things in life like animal crossing and boba tea. Though consensus tends to be I'm one of those heavily-Ne using folk. Seems legit but of course any aspect of my type is up for grabs here.
In line with that, P/J is usually settled as P. Some perhaps J tendencies I have is that I tend to rely on the routine of school to keep me centered and that I attempt organization and a to do list. I perform better with a clean room.
2) What do you yearn for in life? Why?
Like I said earlier today, I pretty much just want to do all the things. But it's more complicated than that. I want to be able to carry multiple types of careers but still be able to live comfortably. I want to be able to give my family a better life. I want to travel the world. I want to create and be respected for my insights in my respective fields. Maybe a touch of fame but not enough that it causes problems. I want to inspire others to break down barriers. Make a major contribution to our current understanding and save lives. Change the world and have fun with it, all that jazz.
3) Think about a time where you felt like you were at your finest. Tell us what made you feel that way.
Those moments where you are actually respected and listened to in a group situation are golden. It's hard for me to think of a specific time. I had some great moments in my earlier days here, toying with ideas and theories and being random weirdos
4) What makes you feel inferior?
People sometimes find me to be unreliable, that I do not hold my word. That I promise too much. I do kind of feel failed as a person when I cannot overcome my obstacles and get a thing to completion. I am also a lot more mentally slow than I would like to be, and tend to have low energy. It is part of me that is hard to accept. I am ever working on keeping myself sharp mentally and physically.
5) What tends to weigh on your decisions? (Do you think about people, pro-cons, how you feel about it, etc.)
I take it all into my account. That makes decisions difficult. I'd say overall I prioritize an impersonal approach. I can make some decisions quickly to serve my goals, while others may take a longer critical approach. It's highly context dependent. Am I choosing a new phone (look at specs)? A new town (feels will factor in a bit more there)? Dinner (time will definitely be of the essence there)?
6) When working on a project what is normally your emphasis? Do you like to have control of the outcome?
Presuming group project? Most of my experience with that is at school. I don't really want to quite control the outcome but I do want to have an influence and guide it towards an awesome result. Create something solid together. I'll put my ideas in but also stand back, but then jump back in if it looks like they're steering us towards a suboptimal grade.
7) Describe us a time where you had a lot of fun. How is your memory of it?
I haven't had real fun in a long time. I'd say my memory of it is pretty poor, lol
8) When you want to learn something new, what feels more natural for you? (Are you more prone to be hands on, to theorize, to memorize, etc)
Definitely theorization mode with some memorization. It is essential that I see what really is each thing, how each thing fits into everything else, what it means together and what you can make of it. But from there approaches vary depending on what type of subject it is and whether it is for school or not. (School approach would be more structured, while I would kind of just dive in otherwise)
9) How organized do you to think of yourself as?
I am artificially organized. I use a calendar, have a planner, keep a to do list. But even after working at being organized for so long I cannot manage to use these tools consistently. On one hand I can look super organized putting things in a list and checking them off and then next moment that all falls apart lol.
10) How do you judge new ideas? You try to understand the principles behind it to see if they make sense or do you look for information that supports it?
Both. I'd say I tend towards first just working out on my own if it makes sense, and then looking for information as needed.
11) You find harmony by making sure everyone is doing fine and belonging to a given group or by making sure that you follow what you believe and being yourself?
I try and make an effort to check on people to see if they are doing fine. I do get worried when I sense the group is splitting apart.
12) Are you the kind that thinks before speaking or do you speak before thinking? Do you prefer one-on-one communication or group discussions?
Usually think before speaking but there are exceptions. Group discussion can be great but it is hard to get right. One-on-one is more reliable to be able to get a word in and get enough engagement.
13) Do you jump into action right away or do you like to know where are you jumping before leaping? Does action speaks more than words?
I'm a balance of the two. Action and words speak very different languages, so it never really made sense to me which speaks more or less.
14) It's Saturday. You're at home, and your favorite show is about to start. Your friends call you for a night out. What will you do?
I don't go out on many saturdays so I may be inclined to jump in. But also I know that friends tend to call you for these things at like 10pm. I don't do the 2am partying thing. Not worth it.
15) How do you act when you're stressed out?
I can get uptight, shut down, be upset by very small details.
16) What makes you dislike the personalities of some people?
Closed-mindedness. Anti-intellectualism, being mean/callous to people just to provoke them.
17) Is there anything you really like talking about with other people?
I'd love it if anyone I knew outside these forums would talk MBTI/JCF with me Psychology in general, Pokemon, medicine, tv tropes
18) What kind of things do pay the least attention to in your life
The things I pay the least attention to I would probably forget to mention here
19) How do your friends perceive you? What is wrong about their perception?? What would your friends never say about your personality?
Quiet, caring, funny, creative, studious. They probably think I care more than I do. And I am quiet but I can get loud in select situations. But they would never say I am loud or dependable.
20) You got a whole day to do whatever you like. What kind of activities do you feel like doing?
"Whatever you like" is a bold ask. I'll try to narrow it down a bit lest this go into the sci-fi realm. Okay so I want to go to the beach, cover myself completely in sand. Buy thousands of marshmallows and make a tower with them. Blast hip hop and rap as I drive up into the mountains. Swim in a pool of water beads. Anything basic enough to do in a day but I wouldn't be able to get away with on other days. But I mean, this questionnaire was compelling enough for me to do with just a single request, so who knows really?
