Argumentative friends

I was thinking about friends who are arguing most of the time. I know some friendships like that and they work very well. For example my sister ENTJ has a ENT(P?) friend and since they were kids they have had arguments about everything. I remember that at the beginning I tried to stop it, then I understood it’s pointless. It’s like a laud blast and then nobody holds any grudges. I learned that they don’t treat it very seriously, so now it’s rather amusing to watch.

Do you think relations like that are somehow characteristic to particular types? I would guess ET types, mostly ENTP because they simply like to discuss and don’t get things as personally as F types. Or does it depend on different character traits?

Well I would say that different people with different type preferences would choose to argue/defend certain things. An INTJ would be more likely to defend their ideas, while an INFP might be more willing to argue their ideals. On the whole though I would say that the people who argue most noticably would be those with T preferences, and NTs more than STs would enjoy it for the arguments sake.
