You were the one who was trying to make me date him! The outrage! lol

Fine. I'll repost what I put up earlier. It's a pantoum.

    The Seal Of Night

we lie beneath the seal of night
    reflecting back the former glow
of burnished souls, at once alight
    now cinders smoldering below

    reflecting back the former glow
the bridegroom, certain, makes his way
across the black, a seamless flow
toward the waiting arms of day

the bridegroom, certain, makes his way
with starry eyes to guide him right
toward the waiting arms of day
a bride of fire, blazing bright

the starry eyes that guide him right
    those distant watchers never see
the bride of fire, blazing bright
on horizon's edge of what could be

    those distant watchers never see
the lovers touch, or arms entwine
on horizon's edge of what could be
how your fingers mesh in mine

the lovers touch, their arms entwine
sun and moon in rare eclipse ~
with your fingers meshed in mine
your cheek comes coolly to my lips

sun and moon in rare eclipse ~
I burn for you, within your view
your cheek comes coolly to my lips
as old as time, as are we two

I burn for you, within your view
your shadow hides me, holds me tight
as old as time, as are we two
a moment sheltered out of sight

your shadow hides me, holds me tight
why should our paths be moved apart?
a moment sheltered out of sight
a brand of time upon my heart

too fast our paths must move apart
for soon the evening takes to flight
still, you're branded on my heart
as we lie beneath the seal of night

Who was schtupping his wife on the stair
    The bannister broke
    But our plucky young bloke
    Finished her off in midair
At least you're keeping with an Irish theme.

That's actually a clever limerick! lol

Not only is that great, but I learned what a "pantoum" is

I love the image of the bridegroom following the stars to meet his bride. It sort of reminded me of the story of the Magi. A classic theme done well
Everybody have fun tonight. Everybody Wang Chung tonight.

I never knew what a pantoum was either, until I dragged up an old English textbook, and it had several traditional forms printed in it. I thought I would try a few for a mental exercise. Some of the meter forms were really challenging. Sestinas were impossible. :| I tried one, and it was bad.

Ooh, I have a dirty limerick I wrote at age 12 I think. Explicit!

There once was a man named Corey.
    His life was hunky-dory.
    He pulled out his meat,
    and started to beat,
And that was the end of the story.

LOL! That was pretty complex for a 12 year old writing a dirty limerick, actually.
