Song meanings

I do. It did eventually occur to me that many songs are written just because the songwriters liked the sound of the words, and that if I asked them what a song was about, they'd just shrug. I think the meaning we bring to it still matters, though, because it tells us something about what's inside our own heads. If something resonates with us and we want to figure out why, this is us trying to find out something about ourselves.
