One of my favorite horror movies of all time, not for simply the fact that it's so disturbing and well made, but for the sheer artistry of the low budget and the borderline insane dedication of Tobe Hooper and the tortured cast, and the historic value (it was a controversial film in 1974 and turns 40 this year).

The edit is beautiful, so crisp and clear, it actually made me dream about my ESFJ ex because he loves this stuff in general, but I love Chainsaw specifically. It's a very grown up film, not horror for ten or twelve or fourteen year olds, but actually earns it's 17+ R rating, even a generation later.

I think PETA should start showing the re-release of Chainsaw as an evangelical film, the implications being here that anyone who could withstand the cruelty of factory farming on a daily basis is a hop skip and a jump from making settees out of human bones and feeding great grandpa virgin blood for din din.

Unfuckingbelievably, they already do! I was half joking, though I know that's one of the main ideas in the film, I didn't actually think they would do that, I mean it's Texas Chainsaw Massacre. ..but no, peta2...their youth angle....already picked it up. Way to go, like people don't need another reason to think peta members are all three sandwiches short of a picnic. ...i mean I get it, Tobe Hooper is a vegetarian, but this could actually drive people away. This movies fucking scary.

I haven't seen the movie because Ti just cannot bear to watch the massacre of perfectly functional chainsaws!

Lol....hahaha...it's very disturbing. It actually has minimal gore but the way it's filmed, and the acting...it's crazy. It's apparently considered one of the 250 best movies of all time (of all movies, not just horror) and some art museum in NY has it on permanent display. Trust me, no chainsaws were harmed in the making of this film. ;)
