I actually thought Titanic was a good movie and extremely well-made. Everyone else seems to hate it -- I'm guessing that's a counterculture talking because the movie remains the biggest moneymaker of all time. Regardless, the movie was excellent, partly because it had content that was appealing to everyone -- a romance story for the ladies and action-packed death and destruction for the gentlemen, all dolloped with state-of-the-art special effects.

It was an okay movie. I will watch any period piece, but it not one of my favorites. I am not a big Leonardo Dicaprio fan.

[Dudemoment!] Everyone knows that it was all about the the boat sinking, I mean that was what everyone paid to see, hundreds of people falling to a horrible death, hundreds more drowning, and the last few freezing to death [/Dudemoment!]

I'm off to bed.

I think INTJ Forums suffers the same thing as INTPc -- they're a bunch of "limousine liberals" who resist everything popular.

I started liking Leonardo DiCaprio when he got past his pretty boy stage -- I personally thought he should have won an Oscar for his role as Howard Hughes in The Aviator. He's actually a really good actor, but I don't recall ever having a crush on him like Scant did.

The Aviator should have also been Martin Scorsese's year to win the Oscar, too.

Anyway, here's extensive coverage of the visual effects work on Titanic, which was revolutionary at the time. 22 effects companies worked on the film in all, although Digital Domain handled all of the primary effects shots.

That is something I don't like when I see it in myself, the reacting against things simply because they are popular. That is giving popular culture as much control over one as if one were slavishly devoted to following it.

I had crush on Ethan Hawke back then.

Snow Falling on Cedars (one of my all time favorite movies!)

Don't even get me started.. *cough Nocapszy and dissonance cough* Telling me I'm following the herd every fucking post I make! Today it was for using the word "system" (I was compared to angsty teenagers) and the day before it was for agreeing with Ivy about people dogging on sensors (likened to a mindless sheep) and the day before that it was for saying intelligence isn't dependent upon N (pretty much just called stupid for not knowing it)! :steam:

Grrrrrr.

So, Titanic and Aviator are both on my list of top 10 best movies I've seen of all time. Maybe I'm not a typical INTJ.
