I go through phases where I watch a bunch of movies then go weeks or months without any desire to watch movies, but I still keep my netflix account active even when I'm not in a movie watching mood (ya I know not very cost efficient). I will sometimes see a recommendation for a movie from someone who I think thinks enough like me that even though I might not have otherwise considered some movies, I'll go ahead and add them to my queue to get around to watching eventually, and after doing that just recently, I thought why not blog my netflix queue and see if anyone has comments on what I have in there and if those movies say much of anything about me or not...

The actual queue I have is like over 200 items, but a lot of that is TV series and concerts, so I'll limit it to the top queue items. Some of these were added because someone else recommended them, some just because they looked interesting, and some I don't really know why they are there, but I must have had a reason at some time. :)

In general, character development, interesting dialog/conversation, plot, and atmosphere, are what are most important to me. I do have a preference for sci-fi and fantasy, but don't care much for a lot of action (most sci-fi movies have more action and less plot than I'd like, but as long as there is enough plot and dialog, I can still enjoy them)

Please feel free to make recommendations based on the above - even if its stuff I've seen, it might benefit someone else reading.
