Divergent Association Task: Fast creativity test
A quick and objective measure of verbal creativity.
man |
Wow.Your score is 60.06, higher than 0.36% of the people who have completed this task
man
Idk cuz I did it with three letter words and did alright. I think it goes for the meaning of the words more than the style of them. Like- its not counting “number of letters” or “starts with” or “ends with” too highly. But yeah, Idk how this relates to ESL. I think the issue might be if you are using things that arent nouns- which could be an ESL problem- or have less than 7 valid words (as it only takes the first 7 valid words out of 10- meaning nouns that arent too technically specific and spelled right)Wow.
Now Im wondering if people who doesn't have english as first language is at a disadvantage for this one. Its what you and me have in common that others on the thread doesn't.
Or you just inserted the word "man" and hit submit?
This is ok. This just means its a harder game- which makes it more fun.I did it two times and I was amused by the large difference on my own approaches lol.
The first time I slowly thought words and was trying to make them as divergent as possible more carefully, took something like 2-4 minutes. Result:
Your score is 78.06, higher than 50.33% of the people who have completed this task
Then the second time I simply wrote up words that did come out of my mind and end up in 20-40 seconds. Result:
Your score is 86.08, higher than 88.68% of the people who have completed this task
Two things: First, for my skill of creativity I don't think this test works due to so different scores after some time.
Second, overthinking seems to kill creativity, probably because I made it deliberate the first time and spontaneous on the second, and that made a huge difference.
@Frosty the highest score is actually 109.6
"Although the scores can theoretically range from 0 to 200, in practice they range from around 6.2 to 109.6 after millions of responses."
And here I was picking different syllable counts, starting letters, ending letters, thinking about vowels vs consonants, etc, since it said different 'in every meaning of the word' or something along those lines.Idk cuz I did it with three letter words and did alright. I think it goes for the meaning of the words more than the style of them. Like- its not counting “number of letters” or “starts with” or “ends with” too highly.
