So i will have been with my girlfriend for 7 year in three days. Browsing the forum over at the SJ thread has made me realize how we each have complemented each other.
We started going out at the end of highschool, and i think that both the time in which our relationship started and the length for which it has lasted enabled us to really shape each other's development.
I remember thre being times where the things that i've done seem to hurt her. She would always demand action, rather than words... and that has always left an imprint on me. Personally, a quick heart felt apology is still usually good enough for me, but when it comes to myself, i often find that i demand more action than thought... which is definately a good thing. Feeling without action is impotent.
I'm also a bit more aware of how my action affects people around me - what it is they represent to others.
As for her - i think she also developed an appreciation for self-awareness... an ability to stay sensitive to my beliefs and why i believe them... and a willingness to learn about them.
anyway, as i'm writing this, i'm coming to the conclusion that although our personality type helps define who we are, the development of our weaker functions allow us to connect and understand other people better.
Imagine if you had the ability to switch between personality types - that at a thought, you can be your shadow self but with more control and purpose... making your thought/emotion known in a manner that another person could understand and relate to.
