What kinds of persons more readily compare dissimilar items, trying to find a baseline for comparison, and what kinds of persons more readily state "you can't compare"?
For example, there's the old adage that you can't compare apples and oranges. It's true, they are not exactly similar. Yet they can be compared in terms of nutrients/weight, sales/day etc.
Some people couldn't even compare two apples - they would seem too dissimilar for them to make a fair comparison.
Other people could compare the 16th century kingdom of Sweden to modern day Pakistan.
Yet another bunch of people could compare cornflakes to earthquakes.
Many people readily compare anything to Nazis.
So, what kind of personality traits are connected with the readiness and profiency in comparing two things to each other, and to the statement "you can't compare" ?
