This might be better or easier to watch. It's shorter.
Cloud:
"He didn't remember killing Sephiroth. He had an extremely traumatic experience and blocked it. Some people blame it all on Hojo but I think it was mostly due to the fact that he couldn't save his mother. I mean he remembers most of what happened except him defeating the orginial Sephiroth, why? Because he was too late. Also Mako poisoning and the shock he was in at the time to see his mother dead, town burning, good friends Tifa and Zack bleeding out and the huge hole in his chest contributed to be sure. But he snaps out of his veggie state after Zack dies and he has a persona to take over and a purpose. His fragmented mind also should be noted is a little boy Cloud that remembers everything. Signifying where he was happiest with his mother in Nibelheim. And why he's keeping the truth from himself. Another thing to note is how most FFVII characters have parental tragedies. Cloud, Aerith, Marlene, Red XIII, Yuffie, Vincent's Wife, even Sephiroth."
Actually, this video probably doesn't really pinpoint anything, lol. It's just that in the game, he failed miserably at being a soldier, was very unsure and not all that good at being a cadet or whatever. I guess in a way too, most commonly thought of fictional ISFP's is what he makes me think of when they portray his younger or authentic self. He just has that kind of "aww shucks" wholesome, and kind of a everyman kind of thing. Even Link (who never talks) gets often typed as an IXFP, but why is that? It just seems more befitting to me.
"Cloud Strife, the main character in Squaresoft's Final Fantasy VII, is a quiet EX SOLDIER. Cloud was born in the small mountainside town of Nibelheim, and was treated as an outcast by the other children in the village, making him become a loner.
ne day Tifa convinces her reluctant group of friends to climb Mt. Nibel to look for the spirit of Tifa's mother. Cloud hears of this plan and decides to follow the group of children. During the ascent, Tifa's friends abandon her one by one to run back towards Nibelheim leaving only Tifa and Cloud. A bridge carrying the two breaks and they fall down a section of the mountain. Tifa's father blames Cloud for the accident. After this, Cloud begins to see himself as weak and decides to join the Shinra Corporation's elite fighting unit SOLDIER to be able to protect Tifa and become as strong as its most legendary member, Sephiroth. He travels to the capital city of Midgar and enrolls in SOLDIER, but quickly fails out of the program, and is forced to become a lowly Shinra infantryman."
He's actually almost like a Enneatype 4 as well, which would seemingly make him a Byronic type hero the most. (feels very flawed, obviously major identity issues going on, dwells on the past way too much on his "tragic" past) He's always brooding too, and it just has to make you wonder...what is he thinking about? oh and I get a sense that deep down, he's probably some sort of an idealist, but he doesn't make grand speechings or showings of this, but I imagine he somehow wants to make the word a better place. Why does he blame himself so much for all the things that have went wrong in his life even though they weren't' directly his fault? (he always does this) because for some reason he caries the weight of the world on his shoulders or something.
