I wonder if anyone knows that the attempts to destablize the US through plumbing the depths of racism and stoking a lot of shady elements for decades has probably been covert action by the US' biggest frenemy the UK as a sort of retaliation for intervention in the Ireland (north and south).

UK is never, ever done seeking the collapse, one way or another, of former imperial territories.

Not that there's not probably some sort of two way street to this. The UK itself as a single entity is probably more likely to break apart than the old money and aristos that the US originally fought for independence from will fade out for good.

I believe the U.S. needs to own it. It's a conversation that has to happen in real life.

I've already said too much.

I hope Trump will lose support during this process os losing power. He publicly plans to punish all the people of New York because he is personally offended by their governor. He would try to withhold the COVID-19 vaccine from the entire state to satiate his ego. I think before this is all over that he is going to piss off everyone except his most extreme base. At least I hope so.

This kind of shit is why he lost, methinks.

This virus isn't something abstract like climate change for which you can get away with ignoring science much easier because the effects aren't immediate. This shit is a tangible presence in people's lives.

Yes, and it is becoming more and more. I know people who scoffed at the pandemic when it was "far away" in New York and their own hospitals were empty. Now over the next couple of months everyone's hospitals are going to be full and everyone is going to experience it first or second hand. By Inauguration Day the pandemic will be much more literal for all Americans.

The kind of attitude that it doesn't matter because it only happens in "Blue states" is enough to make me angry. I don't know anyone here who wanted to ignore the hurricanes that have hit Louisiana and Texas; I've never heard anyone say anything like that anywhere.

I wonder if as a result of Brexit a united Ireland might actually happen. My understanding is that the Unionists in Northern Ireland are furious at the Tories for Brexit.

I hope Biden is ready to deal with it. I'm now seeing articles that we might have missed our window.

At least there will be a plan of some kind, versus abdication of responsibility.

Oh, you mean the giant pack of lemurs jumping off a cliff? Yeah, I’ve heard of them a couples times today. After which I went back to playing games on my iPhone. :alttongue:

In all seriousness, I wouldn’t be too concerned. Let them howl and scream all they want, this election isn’t turning their way this time - and to be frank, after 4 years I’ve had enough of their bullshit, lack of empathy towards others and blatant disregard for science.

There were a bunch of crazy people licking the hood of his car as he drove by the crowd. I think someone started shouting, "Dimpled chad!"

A staunch Trump loyalist, McEntee, 30, was welcomed back into the fold in February and installed as personnel director for the entire U.S. government. Since the race was called for President-elect Joe Biden, McEntee has been distributing pink slips, warning federal workers not to cooperate with the Biden transition and threatening to oust people who show disloyalty by job hunting while Trump is still refusing to acknowledge defeat, according to six administration officials.

The plan will be exactly the same as it has been, minus Trump tweeting and saying dumb crap. The idea that Joe Biden has the solution Trump has been ignoring was a lie. There's no good solution, beyond holding out for a vaccine and being extra cautious around the most vulnerable.

Virologists, epidemiologists, and public health experts are the ones with the answers. Whoever listens to these folks will have a plan that provides the least long-term health problems and deaths and least damage to small businesses and the economy. It is a pandemic, so there will be damage, but intelligent, trained scientists can figure out how to minimize damage. If they have some disagreement, it is a good sign and shows that we need a team or even symposium of scientists to come to consensus. This is the way for humanity to arrive at the best knowable solution to this current crisis.

The only question is if Joe understands who has the expertise because Donald was incapable of this understanding.

Actually, they might not have cleared 5000.

it must be due to counting fraud. Recount the crowd!!

Million MAGA March' Pro-Trump Protest Clowned for Underwhelmingly Low Turnout

Edit: i think based on the responses everyone just didn't pick up i was joking because this was touted for a "million" people and they barely broke a few thousand. I personally don't care either way about the event itself. I guess the joke wasn't very funny, oh well.
