Democrats really are so, so weak. This is why despite every blunder that takes place when the Republicans regain control after Democrats recorrect the course of the ship, they are still a viable political party in the US. Despite the Republicans being the minority party in terms of policy polling, the Democrats just love this idealized world where they can "reach across the aisle" and put country over politics and work together. If Democratic leadership had ANY backbone whatsoever, the reign of Trump could and rightfully should be the nail in the coffin which permanently relegates the GOP into a minority party position. Do you people not understand that Republicans give absolutely zero shits about working with the left in anyway? I mean, anyway more than they can possibly get away with?

Even entertaining Republicans for cabinet positions just further helps the party's future framing that the GOP was hijacked by Trumpism and that wasn't "their party", yet they're almost all complicit. I just...I just don't get it....

Also Trump seems completely out of his element with the muted mics -- It stops his rabid, incoherent attack process that flusters the opponent while giving him the appearance of being the strong man. He's completely on the defensive when that's taken away and he actually has to stay on topic, for which he keeps rambling on about this and that without saying anything of any substance.
