Today is Jimi Hendrix's 74th birthday.
R.I.P
He pioneered electric guitar with his buddy Jim Marshall in Surrey, UK.
Jimi gave us distortion, and was a Hell of a poet/guitarist/showman.
He received an honourable discharge from the armed services and wasn't drafted into Vietnam because of this and; he was also living in England at the time.
This record was recorded on Dean Street around the corner from my company's HQ on Greek Street in Soho, London.
