Beyoncé's Lemonade

...was a pleasant surprise.

I normally don't really seek out Beyoncé's music --
TBH IMHO
she's way too much of an ostentatiously ENFP 9w8 for my snarky private 4 sensibilities *sniffle*

BUT.
I watched Lemonade, the visual album.
And I did like it.
Entirely because it reminded me a great deal of Toni Morrison.
Specifically, Toni Morrison's book "Beloved."
And I like that book a whole lot.

That's why I liked the spoken word-like bits more than the musical elements, truth be told.
The deep Southern gothic creole vibe was enormously alluring.
Visually it was striking in parts, but largely predictable and faddy.

I don't give a damn who cheated on who and what-all else.
I just liked the references to black heritage and everything.
So. Yeah. That is all.

Did any of you watch it? Thoughts? Comments? Reflections? No? Just me? ... Ok.

LOVED IT! just watched last night.

lol at anyone taking the references to generational and cultural patterns of infidelity and disrespect as "Jay-Z cheated on Beyonce". he was in the visual portion of the album more than once as her lover.

oh! also the spoken word stuff was all written by a young Somali woman who is a poet. i thought all that stuff was super powerful as well. especially the stuff about God is God and i am not, and men putting themselves in that divine position to be worshiped, and how none of us should be worshiping our partners. like YESSSS.

A lot of people say she's ISFP. Others say SFJ. ISFP and ENFP is a common mix up...honestly, I think she's NF or SJ. The extent of her feminist "message" is a little obnoxious and literal, even for those such as myself.
