I just watched Debra Granik's Winter's Bone, based upon a novel by David Woodrell.
The main character Ree Dolly strikes me as an ISTJ type of great maturity.
Focused on protecting and caring for her two young siblings and mentally ill mother, the 17 year old is ready to go to great extremes and danger to save them and their house when her missing drug dealer father gets them in trouble. She teaches her siblings to hunt, use rifles, cook and help them with schoolwork. She is thinking about joining the army, mainly to get the amount of money promised to new recruits, wishing to use it for her family's care. She is extremely stoic and dedicated in her quest to accomplish this.
Have you seen it or read the book? What do you think?
