As a female Type 3, I am thinking the same thing. Evidently there are a lot of female 3s in denial out there!
Me too!! Definately a lot of F & E3 women mistype as 2s (or 9s..NF as 4s)

That's an interesting way to describe it so thanks for your response.Well most people dont expect from women to be so territorial
Personally 8s are the type I admire the most, even though I still wasnt close enough to 8 to get burned so...
as far as types go, I would guess the the most common enneagram/mbti combinations would be
ISTJ: 1,6
ISFJ: 2,3,6
ESFJ: 2,6
ESTJ: 1,3,6
ESFP: 7,6,9
ISFP: 4,7,9
ESTP: 3,7,8
ISTP: 5,7,8,9
ENFJ: 1,2,4,6,8
INFJ: 1,2,4,5
ENFP: 4,7,9
INFP: 1,4,9
ENTP: 5,7,9
INTP: 5
INTJ: 5
ENTJ: 3,5,8
SJ: 1,3,6
SP: 3,6,9
NF: 4
NT: 5

Honestly I don't know, though. Are there any statistics anywhere?
4's are quite common out in the world, and they are either the most common, or second most common on this website.

And as far as mistyping, like Brains said, I have wondered if many people have mistyped, but it's hard to say given that I imagine the MBTI itself is far from a perfect measuring tool or complete and comprehensive way of understanding human nature.
Well see, they're both completely different.MBTI test itself is bad as far as I'm concerned. It measures things A B C and D, then cuts the results in half and directs people to look for which side they land on instead of what is stable in their results (like a Big 5 instrument would) so you get a ton of fluctuation. Worse, they direct the test taker to a type profile that doesn't actually describe the kind of personality needed to get to the profile but something from Jungian or Keirsey roots that corresponds to the type code, which is something completely different.
Jungian typology itself I've found to be a good way to categorize most people, but most people also misunderstand it horribly, usually willingly because they deem some types more desirable than others and try to be those types. People are also generally fascinated by their lesser functions so you get stuff like meek ISFJs saying they're INTJ because they like to read books on philosophy or the like. Speaking of which, the lower side of SJ types is barely explored in typology: I'd wager a not insignificant number of Si-Ti focused ISFJs get typed as INTP because ISFJs' tertiary Ti isn't given anywhere near the credence INFJs' is. Those ISFJ logicians exist but no official or "known" source treats the subject.
4's would probably like to think they're the least common, eh? But I don't think they are.
Most common...6 or 9?
I feel like 3 is rarer than we might think. Many people seem to be motivated by those things where the culture idealizes it, but it's not who they are deep down. Because that double life is much more common and thus "normal", the real thing surprisingly doesn't fit in. Especially with 3w4, a culture might actually spit them out because their presence exposes its coping mechanisms.
8 also seems rare.
