I'm not picking on you, really, but the "does not compute" vibes are killing me here."For some reason I don't have any nostalgic feelings connected with classic rock even though I listened to it a lot in 7th-9th grade. I think because I always found it kinda cheesy, since I was also listening to Nirvana & modern alt-rock at the time which to me had more emotion in it"
plus that comment about bikers & hair bands.
Maybe you thought I was an alt-rock bro h8ing on the old school. I actually hate most alt-rock, & I really don't listen to much rock at all. I mostly like pop, hip hop, R&B, electronic music, dub, assorted old stuff (jazz, folk, etc..), & different weird modern 'post-[genre]' stuff.
Well, I'm a mysterious guy.
Like I said though, I had a different idea of classic rock while typing that. But yeah, it's true, I find even a lot of the "good" classic rock cheesy for some reason. I guess the bombast & musical ejaculationism of it (esoteric self-invented term, never mind) just makes me chuckle a little inside.
Here's an example of a kickass probably-not-really-classic-rock-classic-rock-song:

it's from '77
Who do you like better Hall or Oates?
i personally think it's all about Oates.
Hmm okay I was thinking of their early 80's music...a lot of their popular songs were in the 80's. I thought Rich Girl was about '80. It's still not guitar rock bro. I put that firmly in pop.
I like Oates best. I mean Garfunkel and Oates.
reminds me vaguely of this... a true Steve song:
Yeah!
What's your reaction to this song:

I used to get crazy euphoria from that tune. CRAZY!
That's a truly PUA song. LOL.
