EmDrive Is an Engine That Breaks the Laws of Physics and Could Take Us to Mars
This is so cool. It sounds similar to the idea of using solar sails.Scientists were slow to warm up to the EmDrive since it violates the law of the conservation of momentum. In addition to not being sure why it works — current theories rely on quantum mechanics — scientists also have some pretty good ideas why it shouldn't work.
Has NASA Confirmed The “Impossible” No-Fuel Space Engine Works?
What the heck is a quantum vacuum virtual plasma? It sounds like they are saying that space isn't nothingness, that there is something that makes up space.“Test results indicate that the RF [radio frequency] resonant cavity thruster design, which is unique as an electric propulsion device, is producing a force that is not attributable to any classical electromagnetic phenomenon and, therefore, is potentially demonstrating an interaction with the quantum vacuum virtual plasma,” the NASA team wrote in a study presented last Wednesday during the 50th Joint Propulsion Conference in Cleveland, Ohio.
