If you are a lefty, and you're supporting terrorism... There's no meaningful difference between you and a right winger who supports terrorism aside from aesthetics. No one being honest with themselves or anyone else would just let themselves be slaughtered by terrorists for ideological reasons. I promise you when the bullets are flying and blood is in the air and the trauma is incoming: you do not have ideology you think you do. Star Wars is a movie. You are not a part of the rebel alliance, and if you slaughter a bunch of younglings, you're not a "good guy" anymore. If you're advocating for the slaughter of civilians. You're not a "good guy" anymore. The "Good Guys" don't slaughter women and children. It is fundamentally impossible to murder civilians for the cause of righteousness. You can make all the excuses for it you want to help you try to sleep at night. But you will never be able to square that circle.
You can be one of the "Good Guys" or you can be a terrorist who slaughters civilians. But you can't wipe the blood off your hands with bullshit. The Moral high ground exists in the place not soaked with the blood of civilians. Wipe your god damned feet before you track all that hypocrisy you're always calling out on the right. If you're carrying water for terrorists you're only just carrying water for terrorists. Lie down before you hurt yourself. Incidentally apartheid is just terrorism with extra steps and a government backing. They don't get to be "good guys" either.

This has been one of the more entertaining moments in history.

It's always good to remember, that some people will say anything to sell everything; and some people will buy anything even if it costs them everything. Santos is far from the first two bit con man to cast a wide enough net that they end up in the halls of power. If he were an actual con artist, it would have been more difficult to figure out. Might have even managed to get a second term before he decided to take the money and run. Pro tip: Don't try to exploit a public tragedy in any way that can be fact checked back to you. UNLESS you're already at least a senator. There's a reason the only bad guys in the movies from the house of representatives show up in kid movies or comedies. If Ronny Cox, James Rebhorn, or Lane Smith couldnt play you in the movie, you're gonna get caught pretty quick. The one thing I can't wrap my head around is there's not a comedy central satire about the house of representatives. Michael Schur, Mitchell Hurwitz, Dan Harmon, is the fruit too long hanging or something? Don't try to tell me its too meta rn, Dan. Don't tell me it seems like an idea who's time has passed Mitch, and don't you dare tell me lightning can't strike thrice Michael. Networks...come the fuck on. You got money for real housewives but you don't got money this?

I always get a kick of how Santos seems to be expected to be treated like a serious person, and I cannot wait to see him fake a seizure the first time someone interviewing him points out that he can only keep distracting the world with his song and dance for so much longer before he realizes that the only person he's fooling is himself. I'm not worried about him going hungry, because, he'll do anything to get them grifty goals. I'll wager they're going to study his brain when he dies in prison or a motel parking lot somewhere in the world.

This kind of thing is why I'm loathe to speak about this topic. I've gotten it from both sides, although at least not all at once. It's pretty infuriating.

The other thing is that there are people out there who are happy about this because they still blame Bernie for Hillary losing in 2016. I'd love to know how exactly that happened. (Anyway, I've found recently that I've gotten over things that actually happened in less time)

Right now everyone is rubbed up for war, so its in the undercurrent. Society is rabid rn. (having or proceeding from an extreme or fanatical support of or belief in something.) I'm coming to realize that most people can't cope outside the narrative. But life doesnt operate under a single narrative; the more people try to push that not only it can, but it should...The crazier things will get.
