MBTI Types and Political Ideologies

Here's my take on political ideologies each MBTI type could be inclined towards.

1) The underlay showing ideologies is not mine, do not know where the original came from but a copy can be accessed at Mom: We have political compass at home. Political compass at home: : PoliticalCompassMemes

2) On the coordinate system the horizontal axis represents Left Wing (Feminine) vs Right Wing (Masculine) spectrum.

3) Vertical axis represents Collectivism/Authoritarianism vs Individualism/Libertarianism spectrum.

4) I roughly placed each MBTI type on the coordinate axis. Better to imagine that each type can move around in a circle of 2-square radius.

5) Also added Fantasy Role Playing classes that I think might be representative of each MBTI Type, for additional comparison of demeanor.

6) Starting from the upper left quadrant, in clockwise direction, it can be implied that:

Quadrant 1 = Fe domain (Collective Feminine) = Nurture/Healthcare/Education

Quadrant 2 = Te domain (Collective Masculine) = Industry/Military/Commerce

Quadrant 3 = Ti domain (Individualist Masculine) = Technology/Science/Crafts

Quadrant 4 = Fi domain (Individualist Feminine) = Nature/Enternainment/Arts

Some songs

This song encapsulates the spirit of the Fi Domain (Some of the guys, the balding one with the lute for instance, might be Ti though)

And this the Fe Domain

Except, see, I'm very into technology and science and yet I'm all the way at the other end. I also like Nature/Entertainment/Arts, though. I'm not sure type lays that much of a role in politics, although I did believe this at one time. I think there are so many other things that factor into it.

Do you create science and technology though? What are you especially good at creating? What's your trade?

Not entirely sure if this is befitting of the Te domain but it is a song about a feudal ruler and reminds of a march so here goes nothing

And this might be the Ti domain (heavily mixed with Se in this instance)

This is related to correlations b/w personality and RPG character class preference. (Edit: Starts around 3 minute mark.)

I usually play a chaotic good assassin, berserker, or occasionally a battle mage in RPG games. In Fallout NV and Fallout 4, I also tend to play a sniper/assassin build or what I call a scientist tank (high intelligence and emphasis on energy weapons and power armor)

While I find the political quadrant graph overly simplistic, I would probably fall bottom center or slightly bottom center left, somewhere between syndicalism and mutualism.

As a child I was always drawn to the wizard or scientist archetypes when larping with friends in the neighborhood

I create music on a computer. I have also been known to dabble in more “hands on” crafting.

So the quadrant that contains: Communism, national socialism, totalitarianism, authoritarianism, national-communism, statism ...... you call: (Collective Feminine) = Nurture/Healthcare/Education

I do. And here's the irrefutable proof for that (edit: Fe attitude taken to extreme):

Edit: Fe domain is naturally skilled at any profession that require nurture and care.

In terms of political preferences the two most important personality traits seem to be Openness to Experience and Conscientiousness -- that would correspond to the Sensation/Intuition and Perception/Judgment dichotomies respectively. Higher Openness is correlated with left-wing politics and higher Conscientiousness with right-wing politics: the other Big Five traits work at cross purposes along the axes of social and economic liberalism/conservatism. If you take a trait approach to personiality typing then you woud have to add the different traits that push one personality to either left or right.

One would expect that "NP" types (high Openness and low Conscientiousness) would be the most left-wing types and "SJ" types (low Openness and high Conscientiousness) would be the most conservative. "NJ" types and "SP" types would be ambiguous -- liking different aspects of both left-wing and right-wing politics. Here's a description of the types based on a two-dimensional projection of Big Five traits (Hofstee, De Raad, & Goldberg, 1992):

Cultured Type (High Conscientiousness, High Openness): Cultured Types are imaginative and resourceful in their thinking but conforming and traditional in their behavior. They use their intellectual skills to contribute to the common good. They may have a dignified, refined, and somewhat reserved air about them. Their perceptive and analytical abilities allow them to see through complex issues rapidly and accurately, allowing them to find quickly the most effective means of achieving desired ends. They are successful perfectionists, well suited for work that requires close concentration, self-control, and attention to detail. Others describe them as rule- abiding, persevering, learned, well-read, empathic, trustworthy, industrious, leaderlike, traditional, silent, and reserved.

Fanciful/Imaginative Type (Low Conscientiousness, High Openness): Fanciful/Imaginative Types are unconventional nonconformists who pride themselves on being different from others. They are not so much openly antisocial and disruptive in their behavior as they are fanciful, impractical, and unconcerned about the general welfare of others. They are described by others as complex, imaginative, and critical.

Conventional Type (High Conscientiousness, Low Openness): Conventional types are tradition-oriented persons who always "go by the book" rather than improvising, innovating, or thinking for themselves. They are quite responsible and can be relied on to follow directions and get the job done. They are described by others as agreeable, simple, and down-to-earth.

Immature Type (Low Conscientiousness, Low Openness): Immature Types have a history of problems with self-discipline and self-control. As young students they were likely to be restless and unable to concentrate in the classroom, and therefore performed poorly. As adults they are therefore regarded as rough and uncouth as well as impulsive. They like thrills, adventure and action and would find working behind a desk to be frustrating and boring. They are described by others as unorthodox, talkative, outgoing, rule-avoiding, quitting, unlearned, unlettered, self-centered, and unreliable.

You can think whatever you like about these descriptions, but two of them (Conventional, Fanciful/Imaginative), I believe, are pretty good portraits of a stereotypical "conservative" and a stereotypical "liberal". As to the functions, I don't think you can definitely associate them with a particular political orientation -- you could interpret them to serve both right and left in different circumstances and in different combinations.

So, which political ideology on the chart do you identify the most with and what class/profession of video game characters do you play mostly if any, and why?
