Honestly, I'm not educated enough on the issues to have a valid opinion on this. I just took this because I wanted to see where it'd place me based on the things I DID have enough of an opinion on. I'm surprised it actually gave me anything close to 70%.

Real America: A coalition of Main Street, small town, and working-class America, which is deeply skeptical of Washington insiders and coastal elites. They are against free trade and isolationist in foreign policy, but ready to defend America if need be. These people want prosperity for local communities, manufacturing back, and their children to stop dying in senseless wars. This is Trump’s America.

I feel this test has a rather implicit bias written into it...

I had quite a number of questions that I didn't move the marker on, and I think only had a far left or far right response (physically on the line) to 2-3 questions.

Me too. For me, so many things were like "I agree with part of that, but not the other", or "In some cases yes, in some cases no".

The name "Real America" and the description of "Just America" does suggest that.

Right. Or the absolute questions. In these cases I generally leave the slider at the neutral level.

The name "Real America" and the description of "Just America" does suggest that.

yeah; they use certain wording in the questions too; many of them read like "So when did you stop beating your wife?" further the descriptions have a definite slant in adjectival description:

Free America: An alliance of conservatives and libertarians who see America as the guarantor of individual and economic liberties, at home as well as abroad. To these people, America is the leader of the free world; a shining city on a hill, open to the freedom-loving people of the world as long as they agree to work hard, play by the rules, and support the American order. This is Reagan’s America. This is the framing of the late 80's early 90's star spangled body glitter and Patriotic Synth tracks. The Prosperity Gospel America with a gong bridge.
The implication seems to be that you're one of the good idealistic Americans...

Smart America: Left-leaning, well-educated, and tech-savvy professionals who are well off and firmly embedded in the global economy, working with colleagues from across the world. To these people, America is part of an international community; an alliance of free nations promoting peace, prosperity, cooperation, and human rights, at home as well as abroad. This is Obama’s America. This one seems to suggest a moderate, bless their hearts America, a "book smart" "well intentioned" America. It means well and is ultimately trying to be on the right path, but scattered in interests; thank god they still have their priorities as least some "right" with their focus still on center.

This is the America of Bob Segar and Ford Tough. This America has a Hemme. Business in the front and party in the back. Most of the buzz words have the implicit implication of values and ownership; its still good though because its still economically focused, but in a don't look over there, look over here! This is the Dont think about it America. Extreme MEasures get extreme results. Do the Dew. Do as we say not as we do. The entire last sentence is just...It implies there are wars that make sense...and theyre willing to fight to get what they want...regardless how it actually ends up, they'll march to the beat of a fight song...

Just America: Politics as informed by critical theories that originated in social science and humanities departments and spread to the rest of society[Like a virus]. Today these [dangerous]ideas hold considerable sway with professors, the progressive left, and people under 35. These people[those kind] see[through their limited perspective] America as a racist and violent nation that has never done enough to redeem its past and attain social justice. Just America has not yet had a president. This is written as though anyone who could possibly espouse it is either unintelligent, out of touch with reality, or just young and naive. It's not politics as understood, its politics as "informed" passive. Its told what to think about itself. IT originated in soft artsy classes. soft "sciences" stodgy old professors who couldnt make it in the real world. and these ideas spread sinisterly like a virus infecting the lefties and children. These others hate america and their dangerous thinking leads to rasicm and violence. Because of things that happeed in the past and get rid of free speech. This crazy nonsense hasnt had a president because its just a bunch of rowdy kids...

Words have power, to weave them into the minds of masses is to have the power of the gods...the influence of mortal minds and souls...

Lee Greenwood is the only one of those songs I can't stand. I don't have anything against traditional patriotic melodies but I can't help but associate that song with freedom fries and various other kinds of Dubya-era idiocy because that was the first time I started hearing it. It's the musical equivalent of those dumb facebook posts some of my relatives make about the flag and how omigod I hope Facebook doesn't take this down. (Actually, in general, I like my holiday music traditional. It doesn't need "updating"; that's not the point and ultimately it always end up sounding not cutting edge but hokey and instantly dated because the point of a holiday isn't to be cutting edge.

Twisted Sister is a guilty pleasure of mine and I think Dee Snider is pretty far from a Trumper politically. Also, generally seems like he has a pretty good sense of self-awareness and humor, generally speaking. He let Pee-Wee Herman wreck his music video!

It was a regan era song. IT exemplifies the romantic notion of pulling one's self up by their boot straps in the only place in the world where you can be on the streets today with just your heteronormative family and nothing else, but because of the red white and blue pixie dust of the american free market*pause for applause* you can make it big tomorrow. Because America is the land of success. Where Anything can happen. Ronald Reagan you're my hero."

I honestly don't ever remember hearing it in the 90s. I don't remember Reagan at all. I remember Poppy a little bit.
